A Celebration of Paul Reade
A new album celebrating the music of Paul Reade – creator of much-loved TV theme tunes including Antiques Roadshow
- Digital release: 17th March
- CD release: 18th August
Paul Reade, who died in 1997, would have been 80 this year. The new album - which is the result of a crowdfunder campaign I initiated - serves to honour the occasion by creating a lasting legacy of his much-loved work. Entitled A Celebration of Paul Reade, the album features not only the suite from The Victorian Kitchen Garden but also Reade’s Chants du Roussillon and world premiere recordings of four other works.
On the album I am playing Reade's Flute Concerto and a new arrangement of The Victorian Kitchen Garden for flute, harp and string orchestra.
The other soloists are Pumeza Matshikiza (soprano), Laurence Perkins (bassoon) and London Winds. The English Chamber Orchestra is conducted by Robin O’Neill.
